Description of Works

Suez Water Australia operates Sydney’s primary water filtration facility at Prospect in western Sydney. A sludge is produced as by-product of the water filtration process, which needs to be dried before it can transported from site. The client contracted the services of North Shore Paving to speed up this drying process through the design and construction of a 7,500m2 drying bed that is also required to withstand heavy loading from large machinery.

To ensure an efficient drying process and easy use, it was important to construct a surface with an even grade, without any low points that could cause additional water build-up. North Shore Paving utilised its highly experienced grader operators, engineers and site managers with the latest total station surveying technology to produce drying beds with a very high degree of accuracy.
